On October 17, 2024, our colleague Katharina Rothhöft took part in the Baden-Württemberg Congress on resource efficiency and the circular economy. As part of the EE4InG2 project, Katharina led a forum together with two project partners.
The congress offered companies the opportunity to present various techniques for promoting sustainability and to network on the development of a circular economy. Together with Oliver Lösch and Alexandra Decker from project partner IREES GmbH, Katharina led through the interactive forum, which was moderated by Alexandra Decker. The forum dealt with the topic of “Energy efficiency and electrification as building blocks for the decarbonization of industry”. After presenting the project, colleague Oliver Lösch spoke on the topic of “Selected efficiency technologies for electrification and waste heat utilization in industry”. He focused on thermal storage systems. Katharina then presented her lecture entitled “Energy efficiency and electrification in process heat”. In it, she presented a five-stage plan for increasing energy efficiency. She also presented electrification techniques, such as indirect resistance heating and induction heating, and discussed the current challenges in this area. The presentations were supplemented by interactive discussion rounds.
During the course of the congress, participants also had the opportunity to exchange ideas with various companies at the information stands. In a total of 20 forums, experts presented practical specialist knowledge and innovations relating to resource efficiency and the circular economy. The presentations met with a positive response and led to stimulating discussions and the opportunity to make new contacts. We would like to thank Oliver Lösch and Alexandra Decker from IREES GmbH for their cooperation and the congress for organizing the event.
